How to Bake a teacup-shaped cake

Ingredients:

  • Refined flour 1 cup + cocoa powder 1/4 cup
  • Butter 50 gm
  • Condensed milk 200 gm
  • Powder sugar 1 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1tsp
  • Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  • Soda water 1/2 cup
  • Amul fresh cream or any other brand fresh cream 200 gm
  • Dark chocolate 400 gm.

Method:

  • Sieve all dry ingredients (maida, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and keep aside.
  • Mix all wet ingredients- Beat butter, condensed milk, and sugar for 30 sec. Then add drinking soda and beat again.
  • Fold dry and wet ingredients in batches…in small amounts.
  • If required, add 1 -2 tbsp of milk to get dripping consistency.
  • Preheat oven to 180 for 10 min.
  • Grease the cake pan and place butter paper.
  • Now pour the batter into the greased cake tin.
  • Tap the pan 2-3 times on the kitchen platform to get rid of air bubbles and even spread of batter.
  • Bake at 180℃ for 30 35 min till done.
  • How to check the cake is done: insert a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean cake is done.

How to frost a teacup-shaped cake

  • Heat cream in a pan till bubbles start from the edges… switch off the flame, don’t boil the cream; otherwise, it will split.
  • Add chopped chocolate and leave for 5 min for the chocolate to sit
  • Then stir the chocolate and mix it well with the cream to make the chocolate ganache.
  • If any lump is left, reheat for a few seconds and mix again.
  • For frosting, cover the ganache with clingwrap and keep it overnight
  • Now fill and frost the cake with frosted ganache.
  • Chill it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before wrapping it with a fondant sheet.
  • Finally, cut your printed sheet as per your cake size.
  • Apply little water with the help of a brush over the frosted and chilled cake and place your sheet over it.
  • For the handle, you can use fondant.
  • Voila, your chocolate tea-shaped cake is ready.

Tip

I have clicked a photo of an original teacup with tea and got it printed on a fondant sheet to get the real effect.
